Ok, so there is an all-important email I had to send out yesterday that included links and attachments to various sites I have. The email took about twenty minutes to craft together. Yes, craft. These days, emails seem to be more art than writing, but I digress.
After spending twenty or so minutes finalizing this work of art and hitting send, Outlook crashes. ”Ok”, so I think, “it would have saved a draft.” Ten minutes later Outlook opens (hey, I have a slow and outdated system. Freelance writing isn’t the six-figure income career I had envisioned. Neither is it the 4-figure income.) I search all the draft folders from the four email accounts. Not there. Ah.
So, I spend another twenty minutes crafting the exact same email for this client that has to go out ‘today’. I write the email, add attachments, links, etc. Double check and hit send. Guess what. Outlook crashes yet again. Now i’m getting frustrated. I clear the cache, run the scanners and cleaners. Hit Outlook again and wait ten minutes for it to open. Repeat and get same result. Crash.
Now, I open Outlook and then head to Outlook online with my online MS office account. I craft the email, with links and attachments and hit send. I know Outlook online can’t crash.
But, it can send the email back with ‘address undeliverable’.
Some days it just doesn’t pay to turn on the computer.
